Guess The Role Model

Using only this sentence fragment from Slate, guess who is writer/director/actor Zach Braff's role model: he created a role that requires Natalie Portman to fall in love with him.

Are you suggesting that Zach Bruff wouldn't want to join any Hollywood club that would allow a person like him to become a member?

No, but close.

I was right, but obviously too clever for you.

That occurred to me (thus, "[n]o, but close"), but apparently I gave you too much credit, as it is really a Groucho Marx line.

Oh yes - and Woody's quoting it. Damn it all.

But still, it was pretty obvious that it was Woody Allen, who repeatedly embarrasses us all by thinking that our suspension of disbelief capacities will stretch to the point where beautiful young girl after beautiful young girl can fall helplessly in love with a wizened old midget merely because he makes a few wisecracks about his shrink.
