This blog, other blogs you read and the mainstream media might give you a skewed impression of how much time the average American spends thinking about the election and how much he or she cares; that is, any or at all.

Right you are. Our media too. The BBC seems to spend an inordinate amount of news time covering an electoral campaign in which we have no vote.
As little time as we spend thinking about the election is many times as much as we spend caring about what the rest of the world thinks about it.

Yeah well, the amount of time you spend not caring about what the rest of the world thinks about how much you care about the election is many more times fewerer than the amounts of times I spend caring about how little you care about whether I care what you think about the election.
Who honestly spends anytime worrying about what a Brit cares about anything? Germans, sure, but Brits?
